State Ammunition et. al. v. Lindley

The case was filed in the Eastern District Court of California with two issues:

1. Does AB962 improperly regulate, discriminate against, and burden interstate commerce.
AB962, requires all handgun ammunition sales to be done in "face to face transactions" and requires ID and fingerprinting of the purchaser.
2. Does AB962 violate the Due Process and Equal Protection clauses of the 14th amendment.
The plaintiffs claim that the "face to face" requirements of AB962 is violates the Equal Protection clause because it prohibits California ammunition vendors from selling their products in interstate trade because they are not permitted to sell their goods in the same manner as similar companies in the other 49 states.
